Áo Trắng Còn Bay
Áo Trắng Còn Bay
Kính tặng các chị SNA và other significant halves!
Áo trắng tung bay trước cổng trường
Anh người khách lạ thoáng tơ vương
Sương mai lóng lánh trời xuân nở
Ngả nón chao nghiêng đẹp lạ thường
Sáng sáng chiều chiều đi mãi qua
Trường em áo trắng tựa vườn hoa
Hoa lài hoa huệ hoa cúc trắng (1)
Những cánh bông xinh hiền hòa
Văn Khoa, Vạn Hạnh đến trồng si
Phú Thọ, Luật Khoa, chẳng kém gì
Lính chiến, sinh viên chờ mỏi mắt
Cổng trường áo trắng những ngày thi
Đỏ thắm môi em cánh phượng hồng
Trang nghiêm đài các mắt trinh trong
Hàng me bóng mát che chân bước
Trước lạ sau quen sớm mặn nồng
Tan tác một ngày lạc bốn phương
Bầy chim áo trắng đã xa trường
Anh như lạc lõng trong trời lạ
Trường cũ còn đây, người biệt hương
Chim xưa ríu rít gọi nhau về
Áo trắng ngày xưa rộn rã quê
Trường lớp bây giờ hương phấn cũ
Những thanh, phụ nữ, vẹn câu thề
Anh người tình cũ kiếp phong sương
Sáng sáng chiều chiều qua ngõ trường
Mắt lệ mừng vui ngày hội ngộ
Em ngày xưa đó tóc hòa sương

Floating White Aodais (1)
For the ladies of SNA and their better halves
Seeing so many floating white aodais at the gate
I, the stranger in town, stood fascinated and dreaming
Morning dew was shining in blossoming spring
The gentle ladies bent their heads, taking off their conical hats
What a beautiful scenery!
In the mornings and in the afternoons
With students in their aodais here and there
The school was like the garden of flowers
Of jasmines, lilies, and daisies
Those gentle and fragrant flowers
Officers and students from all the town
College of Literature, College of Laws
Collge of Polytechnics Phutho, and Buđhist College Van Hanh
Came and waited on the school days
Your red lips were as beautiful as the flaming flowers
You walked serenely in the elegant aodai with shining candid eyes
Under the shade of the tamarind trees along the streets
We walked, first as strangers, then friends, then closer and closer
Scattering around the world one day
The flock of lovely white birds left the beloved school
Walking by days after days
I seemed lost in a different world
There were still the classes, but where were their souls?
The birds of yesteryears are coming back, chirping
The country is stirring up lively with the white aodais
The classes are filled with the scent of perfume and chalk
Of former students, now gentle ladies, fulfilling their vows
I have, my love, braved life with dignity
Walking by the school in the morning and in the afternoon
Tears are welling up, expecting the reunion with you, my love,
Though the dark hair of yesteryears have the marks of salt and pepper!
