buồn như tiếng lá rên
dưới chân khách bộ hành
buồn như tiếng gió than
làm vỡ hoa trên cành

hồn ướt suốt đường về

tim còn lại tái tê!
buồn như người hấp hối
trăn trối lời hẹn thề...!
buồn ơi ta muốn chào mi,

SADNESS
A sadness like the falling of leaves,
A sadness like withering flowers,
The moaning of leaves
Under the footsteps of passengers,
The plaintive sound of the wind
Breaking flowers away from branches.
I am sad like a rainy day in the past,
My soul weeps althrough the way.
When love departs astray,
My heart sinks in despair!
It grieves like a moribund
